Super clean restaurant with good food. They are technically referred to as a deli. And as is typical of any deli in California... They serve kosher food. The waiters were genuinely friendly too... REALLY.
MoreLove it... Santa Monica staple. The food is pretty dang tasty! Great portions and the service is good. Our family has been going here since it opened.
MoreGood food. Matzo ball soup delicious! Kids meal, fish & chips good but soggy chips. Great location.
MoreAwesome bacon cheeseburger.
Amazing classic deli. I ordered platters for a holiday lunch. Did not want to cook again. We were so pleased I may never cook again! Great deli meats, raves about the potato salad, cold slaw etc. I've fallen in love with Izzy's and so has my family. Deli Hanukkah? Why not.
MoreI loved this 24 hour deli in Santa Monica...I didn't expect it to have such an extensive menu, especially at all hours, but they do! I was able to get my favourites: Mish Mosh soup - kreplach, rice, noodles and a matzoh ball in a very good broth. Also - a platter of open faced sandwiches - egg salad and chicken liver. Their chicken liver spread is more sweet than I prefer, but it not overly so. I enjoyed it.Service is solid. My waiter was a sweetheart and took very good care of me. I will definitely return!!
MorePastrami dip is the only thing I get here. Go when it’s slow as the food comes out better than when they are by busy. Comfort food for sure!
MoreSo glad I walked up the street from my Dr. appt. and discovered this place!! My only regret is not ordering the Pastrami! Had the chili dog with some fries and an iced tea. Service was awesome! I read up on the history while I ate and felt like a part of it just being there. I went to my appointment and came back to order dessert. The gentlemen at the counter pointed out all the go-to desserts for me and I even had help with my selections by a lady from New York that's a regular! I bought $26 worth of desserts alone to bring home to the family and hour and a half east. Definitely going back for rou d 2!
MoreIt's good Jewish deli food, prepared with care, provided in large filling portions, and priced at about 150% of what it should be, but I guess they have high rent or taxes or something at that location.
MoreStopped in for a late night supper. Went with the stuffed cabbage, small side salad and veggie medley. It was delicious! Ordered a side of their deli rye bread with whipped butter to properly get every last bit of the gravy. Perfect late night meal - not too much, great taste, with enough room left for some strawberries and whipped cream for dessert.Thank you Izzy's! I will be back.
MoreWhat you see is what you get. It's old school throw back deli, standard fare. Nothing amazing on the menu. But serviceable. It's the main place to get something to eat if you are visiting a patient at the UCLA hospital in Santa Monica. They are generally friendly and the food is made quick enough. No real complaints here.
MoreThis place is spot on to the atmosphere and taste of an NJ/NY diner. Their options are plentiful and they toe the line of a Jewish deli/diner very well. The downside is the fact that it's still LA prices, so don't expect to spend less than $20 on a meal. The plus side is, they give you enough food to take some home for later.
MoreGreat service everytime. Good consistent food. Pastrami is actually pretty good, far from the best but if you're not in NYC it's difficult. Burger was mediocre but not awful. Hot dog was OK. Coleslaw was a little on the sweet side. Lots of mustard choices.
MoreI LOVE THE PEOPLE & the NOODLE KUGEL! Ask for it warm. It’s to die for good. Seriously yummy. The rest of the menu if fantastic as well. Once you become a regular customer, you’ll be delighted when the staff begins to identify you by name. They genuinely care/want to know how your day is going. Great feeling. If you were not already having an awesome day, I guarantee it will have greatly improved following a meal at Izzy’s.
MoreIf your checking up on Izzy's, you already know about their pastrami sandwiches. It's a meal into itself, and delicious with mustard and coleslaw. The waitstaff is first class friendly and efficent.
MoreReally delicious 😋 definitely coming back and great customer service way better than Canter's Restaurant, Bakery, Deli and Bar and Langer's must try this place thank you for the great food and service:)
MoreHuge sandwiches (meat was tender) and great soup options. Soup was over salted but flavor was delicious. Huge portions, definitely shareable.
MoreFood abounds. Unfortunately I don't believe many people know it open now for dine-in dining.
MoreThe best Reuben sandwich around! Sky high and if you are going for breakfast the Eggs Benedict is spot on
MoreThey have an extensive list, and a great happy hour. You will not be disappointed! The seating arrangement is great!! Their services are exceptional!
MoreGreat place to eat 24hrs a day. On Tuesdays if you come to find yourself with Ashley. Your in good hands for she is a mega multitasker. Even if its busy you'll have great service.
MoreOpen 24 hours and boasting a taste of its nostalgic past on the walls, this diner has lots of comfort food selections and a great assortmant of desserts. The "Ultimate Sundae" was anything but. A few scoops of ice cream topped with something resembling chunky chocolate pudding that was heated in a microwave, topped with whipped cream, no nuts, even tho the menu says nuts... yeah, so dont order that unless you just enjoy inviting disappointment into your life. The cookies tho... i had to make a second trip back for more because they were so damn good. They make the cookies fresh nightly. Macadamia nut and chocolate chip were habit forming. So delicious!! Service is super friendly and awesome. Ashley was my server, she took very good care of me and we chatted here and there.
MoreAte here twice last month. Breakfast with my wife and then lunch a few days later. I had an omelet and it was nothing out of the ordinary. For lunch I had a half corned beef sandwich, coleslaw, and a bowl of matzo ball soup. The sandwich was okay with a good portion of meat and the coleslaw was okay as well. The big disappointment was the soup! No flavor and the matzo ball was like eating a tasteless ball of mush. While I don't eat matzo soup year round, I have had it at various other eateries in the L.A. and Orange county area. I would expect something like this if Denny's had matzo ball soup, but not an established authentic deli such as Izzy's.Unfortunately, I can't give more than 2 stars for this one.
MoreAn old school New York deli. Delicious food..great sevice . Best deli on west side.
MoreI love this place. It has been a while. But Everytime there meals are always Super Delicious. So I had to try almost every desserts. And loved Every bite I had...😋
MoreGreat ambiance... staff makes you feel like a regular. Food is great. Ask for Jose!
MoreFood portions are plentiful, fresh coffee, waffles are simply tasty, customer service ok.
MoreGood place the has good food and you can have a 4th meal because is open 24hrs 👍
MoreWe used to go here all the time. A few years ago their prices rose, service and good declined. If you go during the day or early eve the food and service is better, but just average. So disappointed.
MoreGood 'ole fashionedJewish deli with large servings, big huge sandwiches, pickles, roast beef (old school) place is open all day and night, it never closes!!! On Wilshire & 15th St . Across from medical center. , & Bank of America (ATM) Santa Monica.
MoreThey nail the deli standards: pickles & portions. 👌 bonus lovely service & open 24/7 including holidays. How can you ever feel alone again.
MoreMeh. "It's open late" is the selling point. 14 dollar pint of chili was bland as can be; like... Vanilla ice cream bland. Pints of cold gas station chili were soliciting me out front. I should have listened. I'd be warm, and full... Better off anywhere else.
MoreGave this place a second chance and once again was disappointed and will unfortunately not be going back. People were very nice so gave it a 2, however the omelette very overcooked, gray and rubbery. Was also suppose to come with tomatoes and there were only 4 little pieces. Overpriced for very sub-average food.
MoreThis must be only of the old fashion NYC Style Deli in LA, Open 24 Hours, very old style menu, simple food and huge portions, Pastrami was very good, the chopped liver very classic. If you looking for a health late bit, where this is not the plante, but if you looking for good food and large portions,,, no questions you should try this
MoreGood atmosphere good food I eat here all the time good prices 😊👍
I've been visiting Izzy's since the 90's and I go for their pastrami and egg sandwich, on grilled sourdough with American cheese. The egg over hard. Add a side of fries and you are set for lunch and dinner, unless you have a big appetite.
MoreTheir steak deluxe (or whatever its called) breakfast meal is a lot of food for a decent price and the steak is perfectly seasoned and tasted great. Friendly staff and great tasting food. I'm just a little disappointed that they don't offer breakfast and gravy
MoreYum fun ..good food..meets covid 19 rules
Breakfast was excellent and the service was great too except I paid, got all the way to my car and was about to leave when the cashier lady walks up knocks on my window and asks me to come back to ring me again because she somehow voided the sale??? I guess I'll know for sure when I see my bank statement. Geeeezzzzz
MoreThis old standby is a great place to have whatever it is you want to eat, 24 hours a day. If you're lucky, Izzy himself will welcome you, but regardless, you will have good service and good food. It may not be the most imaginative or modern menu in the world, but that is the point. Try the waffle for breakfast. It's freshly made and delicious.
MoreThe Best Food I've Ever Eaten The Meats are Moist and Flavor The Customer Service is Beyond Compare.
More*sighI was so excited about this place. We actually even detoured from the place we were headed-to; I am an East-coast girl at heart still. This place is coasting by on it's history and overpriced mediocracy, at-best. So, so disappointing. There is nothing worse than looking forward to a great meal out, checking out the options, selecting a place and committing and then the food arrives and either at first glance or taste you know you're already disappointed and it's too late. And you have to pay for that. The restaurant has shabby-chic look, without the chic. Look - it's fine to hold onto that 'original' retro look, I actually love it when places stay more true to their distinctive vibe, but faded and dirt-embedded isn't a vibe. Service was not the worst, definitely not the best;mistakes were made.
MoreThis place is amazing in that they have excellent comfort food in a low key unassuming atmosphere. Very friendly and familiar staff - I look forward to going here as a firm counterbalance to the pretentious scene ten blocks away.
MoreI ordered the Corned beef Reuben and it was pretty decent. The matzo ball soup was subpar and I wouldn’t recommend it at all, not even to curb a craving. This place is ok, but I feel it has seen better days.
MoreGreat specials. Great staff. Open 24/7. What else you want.
Great variety of food and beverages, friendly and knowledgeable staff, reasonably priced and parking can get tough. Nice location
MoreCraving for meat at 2:00 in the morning? No worries! The best thing about this place is it serves 24/7.
MoreGreat Food, even during this crazy time! Love the Rueben Sandwhich, so good! Pickup is easy, just call ahead.
MoreThe foods was good, waitresses was friendly!
Izzy's Deli is a staple of Santa Monica from the '70s. Personally have been a patron since the late 70s through present. Breakfasts are hearty. Deli sandwiches are very filling. Haven't had a bad meal yet. Always great to see the owner (Izzy) and some of the original servers from opening to today. Incredible service staff longevity. Always open, 24hrs and 365 days.
